Prices for young cattle stabilize

In Moulins-Engilbert, Châteaumeillant or Saint-Christophe-en-Brionnais, prices for Charolais U males weighing 350/450 kg are maintained between €3.90 and €4.00 (€0.50 more than last year) .

In Spain, activity is focused on the zone free of FCO 3, and remains deprived of animals coming from the large suckling basin in central . Price levels for export to the Iberian Peninsula are high. On the Mauriac market, 350/400 kg limousines are negotiated around €4.40, and crossbreeds around €4.05. The revaluation of young cattle on the Spanish market and the good valuation of these animals towards Morocco or Algeria, makes it possible to support these price levels.

Domestic market demand is not weakening. Prices are high for Charolais weighing 300/350 kg, prices around €4.10 in Moulins-Engilbert. In the West, feeders are busy with corn silage and are a little less available to bring in animals. The entertainment nevertheless remains very decent in and Châteaubriant, even if the trend is towards capping prices. Prices for good Charolais males weighing 320 kg are maintained at around €1,350 per piece. For blonds from Aquitaine, demand remains strong for vaccinated 320 kg subjects, trading at around €4.50 on the and Cholet markets.

In medium-sized merchandise, transactions are more selective, but price levels remain high given the quality.

In females, availability remains insufficient to satisfy Italian demand. Prices are very high and range between €3.85 and €3.95 in good Charolais or limousines weighing more than 300 kg. Medium-sized goods are still not very present on the markets.
