For the occasion, around fifty people came to Sentiers nature to take part in a climbing activity on the new Keg wall. The instructors supervised climbers of all ages and levels for a day of challenges and fun under the sun. The curious were even able to borrow equipment for free to get started.

“A lot of people from Chute-Saint-Philippe came, so we were super happy. We want to train local climbers,” declares Sophie Turcot, member of the CMHL board of directors. She mentions that the Club is always looking for people who want to get involved. “Mountain clubs across Quebec are dedicated to everything related to the mountains, including mountain biking, mountain skiing, etc. For the moment, we are dedicated to climbing, but if people want to develop other aspects, we are always open! »

The CMHL was founded in 2020. It opened its Lutins wall to the public in 2022 and that of the Keg in June 2024, both at the Sentiers nature de Chute-Saint-Philippe. “We have plans to develop climbing in the MRC. We are waiting at the administrative level to find out if we can use public land, but our project has been accepted by the Fédération québécoise de la montagne et de l’Escalade (FQME),” adds Sophie Turcot.
