The 3rd edition of the “Pumes d’or” book trophy ceremony will take place on Friday November 29, 2024 at CENASA under the theme “RESILIENCE”. The ceremony will consist of trophy presentations, artist performances and fashion shows.

Youssouf Ouédraogo, general commissioner of “Pumes d’or” recalled that it is an event which aims to highlight African writers. This ceremony of distinction for book authors is a biennial.

« The event aims to promote African book stakeholders, to boost the African book sector and contribute to the influence of the African continent through books. The golden feathers distinguish the different candidates who apply freely while respecting the internal regulations. Registrations began in January 2024 and ended July 15, 2024 “, he clarified.

Listening to it, for this third edition, the general commissioner of “plumes d’or” recorded 61 applications including 08 in the PLUME D’OR category, 10 in the Poetry category, 18 in the Novel category, 07 in the category short story, 04 in the Story category, 05 in the Best Young Writer category, 05 in the Best Literary Revelation category and 04 in the Best Female Literary Publication category.

Also, he indicated that in addition to the trophies of distinction, a nod will be made to pay tribute to the writers who have marked the history of Burkinabe and African literature.

As an innovation for this year, round tables and “new paths” in literature will be organized on November 28, 2024 to further encourage young people to write.

As a reminder, the 2nd edition of Plumes d’or held on Saturday November 14, 2020 in Ouagadougou was won by Lieutenant-Colonel William Combary.
