A Houthi missile intercepted by the Arrow system

Ballistic missile intercepted in Tel Aviv region, explosions heard as far away as Jerusalem

Rocket alerts were issued in the Tel Aviv area on Thursday evening, around 12:41 a.m. Residents reported an interception.

A series of explosions was heard as far away as Jerusalem.

The Israeli military says a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis from Yemen has been successfully intercepted.

The interception was carried out by an Arrow missile.

The Israeli military explained that the multiple explosions heard came from the intercept and parts of the missile.

The interception was carried out at high altitude, which led to the fall of numerous fragments. The sirens and explosions heard were the result of the interception process and interception debris, forcing around two million residents, including MP Benny Gantz who was returning from Berlin, to take refuge in shelters.

As previously mentioned, the firing from Yemen comes after Hezbollah confirmed the assassination of Mohammed Srour, a high-ranking member of the organization who served as a military advisor to the Houthis for the previous decade.

Sirens were heard in many areas, including Gush Dan, Shfela region, Modiin region and other localities. Sirens were notably heard in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Holon, Rishon LeZion, Rehovot, Modiin, Shoham and Elad.

One person was slightly injured in a traffic accident. Sixteen other people were injured while heading towards the air raid shelters.

The Houthis are another proxy terrorist group of Iran.
