Led by a great Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea corrects West Ham

With an excellent Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea quietly dominated West Ham (0-3) at the London Stadium on Saturday, opening the 5th day of the Premier League. The Senegalese international scored twice, while being involved in the Blues’ third goal.

Chelsea, who have not lost in the Championship since their opening defeat against the four-time defending champion, Manchester City (0-2), won without trembling at the London Stadium against West Ham United (0-3) on the fifth day of the Premier League. The Blues were carried by an irreproachable Nicolas Jackson. The Senegalese striker, confirmed as number one centre forward by Enzo Maresca, justified, in a very fine way, the confidence of his new Italian coach.

A 50th with Chelsea very well celebrated

And that, right from the start. Dominating by quickly getting their foot on the ball, Chelsea opened the scoring in the 4th minute, thanks to the former Casa Sports player. Launched by the former Red Devil Jadon Sancho, on the left side, Jackson putt Guido Rodriguez on the wind to make the difference against Alphonse Areola (0-1, 4th). Scorer for the third time this season in the Championship, the Senegalese scored his 20th goal in his 50th appearance in the colours of Chelsea.

Faced with a West Ham team in great difficulty at home at the start of the season (now 3 defeats in 3 games), Chelsea, who, on the other hand, had just won everything away, did not need to be asked twice. And Jackson can take advantage of a superb pass from Moisés Caicedo, at the end of a great team move, to go and finish again in front of Areola (0-2, 18th). A clinical double (4 goals this season) which will be followed by an assist on the Blues’ third goal, the work of Cole Palmer (47th).

Taken off by Enzo Maresca shortly after the hour mark (64th) to make way for Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson did his job in this London derby, to the great delight of the Chelsea Blues. With this victory, the partners of the captain of the day Enzo Fernandez reprovisionally move up to second place in the standings with ten points. For their part, West Ham are only 14th with four points on the board. For the next matchday, Jackson’s teammates will host Brighton.
