Heritage Day 2024: What to visit in ?

To see life through rose-tinted glasses… there’s nothing like a weekend in the Ville Rose. Between history, art and nature, is full of picturesque places that, like every year, open their doors to you. Here are some sites that might appeal to you during the Heritage Days, on September 21 and 22, 2024.

Municipal Greenhouses

Toulouse loves to adorn itself with green. For proof, head to the municipal greenhouses. You will lose yourself in a real jungle, since they are home to no less than 300,000 plant species. And if contemplation is not enough for you, the staff will reveal the secrets of this abundant horticultural production.

The Giscard factory

A city’s heritage is also its craft tradition. Contrary to what its name suggests, the Giscard factory does not produce portraits of the former President of the Republic: this factory once belonged to an eminent family of Toulouse sculptors. And if you want to get your hands dirty, there will be casting workshops.

Jolimont Observatory

Do you have your head in the stars? The Toulouse Observatory is made for you. Take advantage of the Heritage Days to take a look at its telescopes and embark on a journey dedicated to the astronomy of yesterday and tomorrow. The Jolimont team will welcome you to explain everything about its work and answer questions from young and old alike.

The Niel Palace

Rest assured, this sumptuous residence is not Xavier Niel’s Summer Palace. Built in the 19th century, this residence now houses the headquarters of the 11th Parachute Brigade. If you’re interested, the sky soldiers will explain their perilous work to you. Otherwise, enjoy the prestigious architecture and relax in the calm of the gardens.
