While the lawyer for the accused, Me Yassine Bouzrou, had requested that the Meaux public prosecutor's office end the procedure, the prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier dismissed the first accusation, according to information from the Parisian confirmed at Figaro. A defeat for the Insoumise offset by the maintenance of the second offence, for which Damien Cassé is referred to the criminal court in January.
“It is a relief to learn that Mrs. Soudais' ex-partner will have to answer for his actions”indicated Me Jade Dousselin, the MP's lawyer with the Parisian. “We know how extremely difficult it is for many women today to provide evidence of rape during a regular relationship and we regret this.”she adds.
