Julien Arnaud (Télématin) reveals the disorder he must control to appear on television

We now find him every morning on the Télématin show alongside Flavie Flament on 2. After years in front of the cameras, he managed to hide a disorder that can be very disabling when you’re on television…

Julien Arnaud’s career on television

Julien Arnaud is a journalist and presenter who made his debut on LCI in the 90s. From 2006 he joined TF1 replacing weekend news. Six years later, he kept the same position but presenting the 8pm news on weekdays. During the 2020s he made his return to LCI presenting the 12pm/3pm news with Claire Fournier on weekdays.

Since the start of the 2024 school year, Julien Arnaud has been presenting Télématin on France 2 alongside Flavie Flament. A new professional challenge for someone who has already, in the past, been able to take on unexpected challenges on television. After all, he suffered for a long time from a disorder that could have been a real handicap in his profession.

Julien Arnaud’s stuttering

In May 2024, Julien Arnaud made some confidences in the show On refait la télé on RTL. He thus admitted to having suffered from a disorder which, against all expectations, helped him a lot in his job: “I was shy. I stuttered, imagine that I realized late in life that these are things that helped me to be rather good on air. (…) When you stutter a little, you integrate the fact of thinking about what you are going to say before even saying it to avoid obstacles: the ‘b’s, the ‘p’s. (…) We anticipate [car] This allows you to better measure your flow rate [de parole]to better concentrate on what we are going to say… To always be one step ahead. (…) And that, when we speak into a microphone, I think it is something that helps a lot!”

If during his childhood he was mocked because of his stutteringhe knew how to control it on air and “clear his mind so as not to speak too quickly”. Today, no viewer can suspect this disorder in the journalist.
