This Monday, August 14, around 5 p.m., a stage collapsed in the middle of a show at Europa Park, located in Rust, Germany. An incident that caused several minor injuries.

Two months after a fire that ravaged part of the park, a new incident occurred on Monday August 14 at Europa Park in Rust, Germany. Around 5 p.m., the stage and the basin of the “Retorno dos Piratos” diving show partially collapsed during the performance. A fall that injured at least seven people, including five artists and two visitors. German police also said that three of the injured were placed in hospital for observation. An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of this accident.

Two incidents in two months

“The mobile pool of the high-flying diving show cracked during a performance. Water flowed into the lake from Atlantica SuperSplash. A visitor suffered a minor scratch. Atlantica SuperSplash will be back in service shortly,” the amusement park wrote on Monday, August 14, on X (formerly Twitter). Debris had fallen on the arrival area of ​​these roller coasters, forcing its immobilization while visitors were present in the wagons. Later, Europa Park had announced that the carousel could reopen this Tuesday, August 15. On videos shared on social networks, we can see the whole decor falling apart, causing everything to fall into the basin.

Regarding the show, the question of its recovery arises. According to the German newspaper “Badische Zeitung”, it is possible that it will not resume, when it was to be presented to the public until September 3. This is the second accident in two months that occurs at Europa Park. Last June, a fire broke out in the Spanish district, in the amusement park. The park’s spokesman, Engelbert Gabriel, stressed that these were two very separate incidents, assuring that “security is a priority for Europa Park, the attractions are checked once a year”.
