Youtubeur Jean-Baptiste Dessort died on Saturday June 24 in a road accident, according to information from Numerama. At the wheel of a Tesla Model S Plaid, the founder of the “Le Billet Auto” chain reportedly hit a tree after leaving the road, the gendarmerie told France Bleu.
The firefighters would have intervened around 11:45 p.m. in the town of Val-de-Virvée (Gironde), north of Bordeaux, according to information from France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The 37-year-old man appears to have been ejected from his vehicle during the accident, his lifeless body having been found next to the totally ablaze vehicle when the firefighters arrived. He was declared dead by the ambulance doctor present at the scene. No additional element allows for the moment to say more about the circumstances of the accident.

The content creator was driving a Tesla Model S Plaid from the brand’s press fleet, no doubt to test the vehicle for several days so that he could issue a critical opinion on it through one of his web content. According to Numerama, Tesla did not wish to communicate on this accident.
Jean-Baptiste Dessort had created his YouTube channel which has more than 60,000 subscribers ten years ago. He has published more than 800 automotive videos, including half a dozen on Tesla brand vehicles that he knows very well. In 2011, he founded “le Billet Auto”, an information site recognized for its tests on thermal and electric cars.
