Since 2015, Sophie Nahum has dedicated her life to filming Holocaust survivors. At the time, for his documentary Young and Ifollowing in the footsteps of a Jewish boxing champion deported to Auschwitz, she met her first direct witnesses. And she was like, “Damn! My children will probably never have the opportunity to speak to a survivor of the camps.” The protean project “Les Derniers” was born.
Sophie Nahum was joined along the way by Leslie Benitah, a French journalist expatriated in Miami who gives an international dimension to this collection of testimonies. In ten years, they have accumulated more than 150 interviews, published several books, videos and films. An iOS and Android application allowing you to view capsules from these interviews in a geolocated manner has also been created with the support of the Ile-de-France region.
