Two Palestinian sources told AFP on Sunday that the hostage Arbel Yehud, whose Liberation was demanding the day before, should go home in the week against 30 Palestinian prisoners, before the next exchange scheduled for Saturday.
An official of Islamic jihad, an ally of Hamas in Gaza, assured that it “would be released before the next exchange agreement”, stressing “intensive efforts of the mediators” Qataris and Egyptians.
Another source close to the file indicated, also on condition of anonymity, that “the crisis had been resolved” and that the young woman, already described as healthy, would be free “probably on Friday”.
The office of the Israeli Prime Minister, interviewed by AFP, had not immediately made comments.
The truce agreement, which entered into force last Sunday, provides for the release during the first six weeks of 33 hostages – women and men over 50 years old or in bad physical condition – in exchange for the exit of 1,900 Palestinian prisoners of Israeli prisons.
Seven young women have already been released, including four soldiers on Saturday, while Arbel Yehud, 29, kidnapped with his companion in their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz (South), is still caught up in Gaza.
-Sunday morning, the office of the Israeli Prime Minister accused the Palestinian Islamist movement of two violations of the agreement.
He argued that Arbbel Yehud, a civil hostage, had not been released on Saturday when it was deemed priority, and that the “status list” of the hostages – dead or alive – had “not been” subject “as he demanded.
Israel has decided in return to prevent the return of tens of thousands of displaced to the north of the Gaza Strip devastated by the war, as long as these questions are not resolved.
Hamas has itself accused Israel of being responsible for the blockage.
