The winner of the Star Academy, Marine Delplace, was treated as “Sale Blanche” by Internet users who see behind her victory proof of the “racism” of the public, after her rival Ebony Cham was also the target of a wave Racist remarks for several days.
Instead of seeing in them two talented singers, finalists of the famous TF1 telecrochet, some Internet users have seen a black and a white. The final of the Star Academy during which were clarified for a final duel Ebony Cham and Marine Delplace was indeed enamelled, on social networks, of messages of a racist nature targeting one or the other of the candidates.
These messages have already multiplied in recent days at the place of Ebony Cham, to the point that several associations fighting against racism have filed a complaint: after the production company of the «Star Academy»SOS Racisme and the Maison des Potes announced legal actions against these racist messages. According to Sos Racisme, Ebony Cham, from Guadeloupe and Martinique, is “The target of a wave of racist and sexist hatred on social networks”. Messages have notably described it as «guenon» or from “Bambouny”.

According to the Maison des Potes, it is “Victim of calls for discrimination for the vote of the Star Academy and racist insults because of its skin color”. The association had been seized by the Vice-President of the Ile-de-France Region Patrick Karam, former inter-ministerial delegate for equal opportunities for French overseas.
SOS Racisme had denounced the fact that “When black or Arab people are highlighted”they “Almost systematically become the target of digital harassment”.
