Several banners deployed by the Nice supporters during the Ligue 1 meeting against Marseille created the controversy. One of them, in particular, deployed by the Ultras popular South (the old southern brigade, dissolved in 2010), and on which was written: “The sun sets on the city of Nice … that rats hunt begins”provoked a reaction from the mayor of Marseille, Benoît Payan.
