After a first flight to Malaga, the couple from the southwest of England took a second plane to Manchester, all at a cheaper price than the train.
Resident of Cornwall, in the southwest of England, Kristina Coulson did not hesitate to take a long detour to collect her new car in Crewe, near Manchester.
Rather than taking the train to travel the 430 kilometers, this 43-year-old social worker and her husband, Dan, chose the plane, a more economical option, but they had to spend a few hours in Malaga, reports The Telegraph.
Kristina and Dan paid £54 each for a first flight from Newquay, Cornwall, to Malaga, then a second flight from Malaga to Manchester. The total cost for the couple thus amounts to 108 pounds (a little less than 130 euros), much cheaper than the train ticket, offered at 200 pounds per person.
-Better comfort
Arriving in Malaga around midday, the couple only stayed for a few hours before boarding for Manchester at 10 p.m. Once in England, they spent the night at the airport hotel for 90 euros. The next day, they collected their vehicle to return home.
Although Kristina admits that “it was a bit of a crazy idea”she highlights the competitiveness of the plane’s prices and the comfort it offers, recalling that she had already been “up for almost seven hours” on a train even though she had paid for a seat.
