Barça makes a big decision for new signatures

This week, FC Barcelona announced the extension of Ronald Araujo but also that of Gerard Martin. In these announcements, there was no mention of the liberating clauses, which were however announced before. Since the departure of Neymar in 2017 for Saint-Germain, Barça, like Real Madrid, has often decided to arm its stars by establishing inaccessible clauses, very often up to a billion euros. But no trace this week of the amount of the latter.

Barça will no longer announce the clauses!

And according to Mundo Deportivo, this would now be the case for all new signatures (arrivals or extra time), the objective being to sow doubt in the minds of rival clubs. As a reminder, the Uruguayan, extended until 2031, would have seen its release clause go from 1 billion to 65 million euros for the summer of 2025, an amount that would increase to 80 million in January 2026, according to the Catalan press. Suffice to say that this amount could be easily spent by a club with big means in the coming months. Case to follow.
