The Union of Pocognoli made life easier against Beerschot: “It looked like a trap match but we made the match easier”
Union Saint-Gilloise quickly made life easier in its duel against the red lantern. Sébastien Pocognoli’s men killed any suspense before half-time before being able to manage the match in the second half. “We knew what kind of match awaited us, explained the unionist T1 after the meeting. Beerschot is a team that plays quality football with attacking play. It had all the makings of a trap match but we made the match easier by being serious from the start with a lot of intensity in the duels. The fact of having scored quickly and certain circumstances of the match (Editor’s note: the exclusion of Al Ghamdi) meant that we were then able to manage. It’s a luxury that we had thanks to our good start to the match.”
