2. Preparations for the Republic Day parade begin in July, the previous year. Participants are officially informed of their participation, and on the day of the parade, they arrive at the venue as early as 3 a.m. By then, they have typically practiced for about 600 hours.

This year, the dress rehearsal took place on Thursday January 23.

3. Every year, a Prime Minister, President or leader of a country is invited as the chief guest of the Republic Day parade. This year, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will be the guest of honor.

4. The firing of the cannon salvo is synchronized with the start of the national anthem. The first cannon is fired at the start of the anthem, followed by another 52 seconds later. The guns used for these firings were manufactured in 1941 and are used at all formal army events.
