The national gendarmerie is looking for a man in his thirties “potentially armed and dangerous”, after the death of two young people in the Deauville region (Calvados), the Caen public prosecutor announced this Friday, January 24.
The remains of the man and woman, aged 20, who disappeared on Wednesday, were found Thursday in a town near Deauville, in Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains. The bodies had been buried in the garden of the house where the suspect lives, according to West France.
The young man’s autopsy confirmed that he “presented head trauma and traces of violent blows to the face” and that he “was the victim of a gunshot”. The autopsy of his partner will take place in “early next week”.
“No hypothesis is excluded”
“A man aged around thirty, residing in the town of Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains, who would have been in contact with the victims on the day of January 22, is currently actively sought by the national gendarmerie”said prosecutor Joël Garrigue in a press release, specifying that this man is “potentially armed and dangerous”.
-The Caen public prosecutor’s office declared Thursday evening that it was unaware “the circumstances in which these two young people were killed” and the possible motivations for the double homicide: “No hypothesis is excluded.”
A judicial investigation was opened against X on the charge of murder and investigations are now continuing under the direction of an investigating judge.
