Life imprisonment with 20 years of security, this is what the Attorney General Jean-Marie Beney has just requested, against Sandrine Pissara, tried for acts of torture and barbarity leading to the death of her daughter Amndine, 13 years. The teenager died of starvation after a cardiac arrest after being locked in a cupboard for several months on August 6, 2020 in Montblanc near Béziers, in Hérault.

In an implacable indictment, the attorney general compared the suffering of which Amandine was a victim to that inflicted in a totalitarian regime, perpetrated by Sandrine Pissara described as a “domestic tyrant and internal dictator”.

For 4 days you have entered hell, the unthinkable, the unspeakable. You have penetrated into the Pissara system, into the family dictatorship, you have penetrated into an unimaginable world”

Jean-Marie Beney, general counsel

During the indictment

“In any totalitarian system, there are collaborators, and I see one in the box, it’s Mr. Cros. If we have an ounce of humanity, we react.” he added.

18 years of imprisonment were required against Jean-Michel Cros, Amandine’s father-in-law, who did not prevent the crime.

The attorney general said he did not believe in the defense of the mother who explained that she was reproducing the violence of which she said she had been a victim. At the bar, Sandrine Pissara admitted the facts, mentioning in particular the “violence” that she late said she had suffered during her childhood.

The trial continues this Friday, January 24, 2025, with the defense’s pleadings. The verdict is expected in the coming hours.
