“The first rains reached at the end of the night, but the episode has not yet really started, particularly in Morbihan,” noted Météo- in its 6 a.m. bulletin.

Saturated soils

“Storm Éowyn is currently circulating over Ireland,” forecasters point out. “Over Brittany, it brings lasting and temporarily sustained rain, in particular (Friday) evening”, when the disturbance will reactivate. Météo-France is thus forecasting a “usual rainy episode for the season, but requiring particular vigilance, due to saturated soils”.

Cumulative precipitation amounts between 20 and 40 mm are expected during this rainy episode. “The heaviest rain should stop around midnight,” Météo-France said.
