A new fire broke out on Wednesday, January 22, north of Los Angeles, leading to evacuation orders in a region already shaken by devastating fires.
-All night long, the flames continued to gain ground in California (United States). A new home declared Wednesday about fifty kilometers north of Los Angeles. The fire has already ravaged nearly 4,000 hectares in the space of a few hours. Faced with the danger, thousands of evacuations were ordered.
“Approximately 31,000 residents are affected by an evacuation order and 23,000 others are affected by a warning”announced Robert Luna, the Sheriff of Los Angeles County. Several roads were closed. Fanned by hot, dry winds, the fire spread quickly, but the firefighters wanted to be reassuring. “We are gaining the upper hand”assured Anthony Marrone, Los Angeles fire chief. More than 4,500 firefighters were deployed on site.
