Back in 2008.
Let’s go back a few years. We are in 2008, in May to be exact, and Indochina made the choice to release a cover of You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)the hit of the British group Dead or Alive. This wink was marketed for the benefit of Reporters Without Bordersin order to raise awareness about freedom of expression and respect for human rights in China, during the Beijing Olympics that same year. The track then appeared as a bonus track on the album The Republic of Meteors in 2009. Here is the original version, and the cover:
The title is still in the setlists ofIndochinaas was the case on the last festival tour in particular. It remains to be seen whether she will still be there on the new tour. Kicks off this Tuesday…
-As for Dead or Alivefollowing the deaths of two members (Pete Burns in 2016, Steve Coy in 2018), the group did not continue the adventure… We also remember a good number of their other hits, Brand New Lover has Something in My House.
