“My heart almost stopped,” said Al-Khelaïfi in the mixed zone after the match. “I am very proud of my team. We played against a great team, in a situation where we were not sure of being qualified, against a great coach and great players. We showed that we were a great team too. Today, the star is the team 10/10 for all the players who played today.”
“The supporters were also magnificent,” continued the Parisian president. “I think it’s the best atmosphere since I’ve been president here. The crowd was very important in pushing the team. It was a perfect match, honestly.”
-Al-Khelaïfi also had a word for Luis Enrique, who won his tactical battle against Pep Guardiola. “We have a great team with personality, a young team but with character and the best coach in the world”, even if he “sees some media criticizing him”, concluded the manager, refusing however to say if he had indeed extended Luis Enrique.
