The Korean smartphone giant didn’t just have its classic Galaxy S25 range at its conference and had a surprise announcement in store.
Some already see it as a response to rumors surrounding the officialization of an iPhone 17 Air (or “slim”) for fall 2025. Samsung prefers to cut it short: the expected surprise at the end of the conference presenting its new range of smartphones has a name, it is the Galaxy S25 “Edge”.
The relaunch of a forgotten range
This name may mean something to you: it is a label used by Samsung between 2014 and 2017. At the time, it offered a curved screen on the edges.
If the range has since been scrapped, it is to better return in 2025 with a model whose contours remain unknown, in particular its finesse. Samsung in fact contented itself with a very short teaser to announce the Galaxy S25 Edge. The smartphone is present at the conference venue, but in the form of a prototype. In San Jose, where Samsung’s announcements are taking place, it is not possible to hold it in hand, but only to photograph it from afar.
-Tech&Co will nevertheless be able to offer you a first impression in the coming hours.
According to rumors surrounding the product, its launch is not expected for several months. It would also be 1.8 millimeters thinner than a Galaxy S25 Ultra.
