D1 – last match of the regular season 2025 this Saturday with the meeting between the Argonauts and the Bears
At 10 p.m. this Saturday evening, the regular D1 version 2025 will be officially completed. But before that, there remains a match to play! A crucial match for Toulouse bears which can win their place for the playoffs which will take place from May 24. Faced with them argonauts who know how to be surprising and who will probably not be here as an expiatory victim. The Toulousains are warned, it will be necessary to fight to seek the qualification.
(3-6) Argonauts Aix-en-Provence-Bears Toulouse (5-1-3)
The stake of the match
Even if one of the two teams, in this case the Argonauts, will appear on the field without pressure, the stake for this last meeting of the season is enormous: qualification in playoffs. Besides, this match can completely redistribute the post-season cards which promises to be in two weeks.
The calculations are rather simple for the Toulouse bears: to win regardless of the score and the way. In case of success, the Toulouse bears would then find themselves equal to the ranking with the Catalan Grizzlys and could thus take second place due to the difference in points between the two teams on this D1 season. A victory that would therefore allow the bears to be able to receive the Molosses of Asnières-sur-Seine in their stadium for the Tour of Wild Card in two weeks.
On the other hand, in the event of a miscarriage of the teammates of Braden Howell, the hopes of qualifying would automatically go up in smoke. The Toulouse bears would therefore be equal to third place in the ranking with the Blue Stars of Marseille but would finally find themselves in 4th position due to the particular point difference. Thus, the Blue Stars would be qualified and would challenge the Flash from La Courneuve to the Géo André stadium on May 24.
Obviously, the stake is not as great for the Argonauts of Aix-en-Provence who have nothing to fear or hope in this 2025 D1 season. However, the Argonauts play their role as a referee thoroughly in this end of the D1 season since they have, over the last two weeks of competition, managed to beat the Blue Stars of Marseille and they have bothered for more than a half the Catalan Grizzlys. For the last in front of their audience, the Argonauts will want to make a big match.
Strengths and weaknesses of the two teams
Toulouse bears have the advantage of having a particularly well -balanced team in this 2025 D1 season. Their American quarterback, Braden Howell, has already been comfortable on many types of throws and he also does not hesitate to use his legs and his power to advance his team. The defense has experienced some vacuum passages in recent weeks but she also knows how to be solid as she has proven in certain ends of matches at the start of the season. However, the Toulouse dynamic is not really excellent in recent weeks, however, despite last week’s victory against Nice’s dolphins. To be confirmed.
On the side of the Argonauts d’Aix-en-Provence, the attack remains capable of exploding at any time. Behind a Dominique Thompson difficult to manage for the opposing defenses, other players like Alexandre Agnimel or Antoni Giglio know perfectly exploited the slightest breach left by the opponents. The concern for the Argonauts of Aix-en-Provence, however, is often the management of meetings in particular from a defensive point of view with a fatigue which attacks the overall cohesion of the team which made it lose many games this season despite sometimes successful performances.
