FC Barcelona’s German coach Hansi Flick has shared his thoughts after a thrilling 5-4 win over Benfica in the Champions League. Reflecting on the match in Lisbon, Flick said: “We came back; that’s what football is, and that’s why we love it.”
The match took an unexpected turn as Barcelona, initially trailing 4-2, secured victory thanks to a goal from Raphinha in the 90+6 minute. Flick described the match as “very crazy”, highlighting the exciting nature of the turnaround. “I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a turnaround like this,” he recalled.
Flick pointed out that his team did not play well in the first half, acknowledging Benfica’s effective transitions during that period. “They forced us to defend low, but we were much better in the second half, and the substitutions made the difference,” he explained.
