Invasion of Ukraine – Trump considers new sanctions “likely” if Russia does not negotiate with Ukraine

“It seems likely,” said the American president when asked about it during a press conference at the White House, reiterating that “the war would never have happened if I had been president” at the time .

He further indicated that the United States would “look into” continuing military aid to kyiv, which amounts to tens of billions of dollars since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

“We are talking to (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky,” he said. “We are going to talk very soon with (Russian) President Vladimir Putin, and we will see what happens.”
