After the Samsung Galaxy Note 20, a new January security update is also available for the Galaxy S22.
Here’s what we know
Samsung has released a new security patch for the US versions of the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones, which have carrier unlocked model numbers SM-S901U1, SM-S906U1 and SM-S908U1. This software update, which fixes a total of 51 vulnerabilities, changes their firmware versions to S901U1UES7EXL8, S906U1UES7EXL8, and S908U1UES7EXL8.
The Galaxy S22 series is expected to soon get a major One UI 7 system update based on Android 15, which compatible Galaxy S series smartphones will receive in the first quarter of 2025. This will be the third of four big updates for S22 series. The last major update for this range of smartphones will be Android 16 with One UI 8.
