On this Tuesday, January 21, I offer you three betting choices for the National Hockey League (NHL).
I’m also including one of my premium bets of the day, so stay until the end!
Let’s start by talking about the matchup between the Lightning and the Canadiens. Which team will win?
PICK #1: Lightning (vs. Canadiens)
After analyzing all aspects of this Atlantic Division duel, I decided to bet on a direct victory for Tampa Bay.
I often mention the importance of the rest factor. In this case, the Lightning will play the second game in as many evenings after facing the Maple Leafs in Toronto. Despite this, I firmly believe that Tampa will win against CH.
The two teams will play their third match in four days.
Tampa trusted its number two goaltender Monday night, so Andrei Vasilevskiy should be in net at the Bell Center. He is having a very good season with a low goals against average of 2.35 and a save percentage of .916.
Although it is not yet confirmed, it appears that first-year goaltender Jakub Dobes will be in goal for the Canadiens. After four excellent starts to begin his NHL career, he struggled in his last outing, conceding four goals against the Rangers. This could weigh on his confidence.
I also appreciate the revenge factor in this context. Last December 29, Montreal surprised everyone by beating the Lightning in Tampa Bay with a score of 5 to 2. In my experience, the revenge factor works much better when the stronger team of the two has lost the first game . In this case, she tends to come back with a strong performance to avoid another surprise defeat.
-So I take Tampa for a straight victory at very reasonable odds (around 1.714).
PICK #2: Over 1.5 goals in first period Sharks/Predators
It’s a tough situation for the Sharks on the road, as this game will be their fifth straight away game. Additionally, they played Monday night in Boston and had to travel overnight to get to Nashville. San Jose will also play its third game in four days.
In most cases, tired legs lead to a more vulnerable defense. The Sharks defense is already very porous, as evidenced by the fact that they have conceded the second most goals per game. The situation could therefore become complicated against the “Preds”.
Note that the “over” in the first period has been the winner in four of San Jose’s last seven games. Furthermore, this bet has also paid off in three of Nashville’s last five meetings.
NHL PICK: Predators -1.5 (vs. Sharks)
This is one of my premium NHL bets of the day!
Did you know that the Predators have won their last 10 meetings against the Sharks? Additionally, eight of these victories were achieved by a margin of at least two goals, which is promising for this bet.
Nashville’s offense has struggled for much of the season, but it seems to be finding some color lately. Indeed, they have scored 14 goals in their last three matches.
