-Two interventions in the middle of the night, to provide assistance and prevent the fire from spreading. On the night of Monday January 20 to Tuesday January 21, the Gard departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS) intervened for chimney fires.
The first time, in Vigan, shortly after midnight, in a village house. The rapid arrival of ten firefighters made it possible to stop the spread of the fire and preserve the home. As a precaution, the four residents, a couple with their two children aged 8 and 5, were transported to the Carémeau University Hospital to carry out checks.
Secondly, at 2:30 a.m., 22 firefighters were called to Marguerittes for similar incidents. Several devices were used to circumscribe the fire and limit damage to the 200m² house. A 51-year-old woman, bothered by the fumes, was treated and transported to Carémeau University Hospital to also carry out checks.
