Provisionally qualified, LOSC travels to Liverpool for what looks like the toughest challenge of its seasonTuesday. A match for which the refereeing body has officially been appointed.
A discovery for LOSC, not for Liverpool
Designated for the Liverpool – LOSC meeting, Felix Zwayer has never crossed paths with Lille in his career, which began in 2009 in the German D1, in his country, and in 2015 in the Champions League, with 33 matches refereed in total in the competition. The 43-year-old official, a reference in arbitration on the Old Continent, has on the other hand already refereed French clubs seven times, for a perfectly balanced overall record of two victories, a draw and two defeats.
The same goes for Liverpool, who have a record of one win, one draw and one loss with the German referee. The last meeting between the official and the English club dates back to March 2023, when the Reds lost to Real Madrid in the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League (1-0).
