Almost a week after the start of the fires encircling the city of Los Angeles (California, USA), firefighters continue to fight against the flames.
In the Pacific Palisades neighborhood alone, authorities estimate that more than 5,000 homes were destroyed.
These fires, which are already considered the most destructive in the history of the City of Angels, have forced thousands of residents to leave in disaster.
The dog ran away
Residents who have sometimes been forced to leave their homes without their pets.
In this chaos, Americans who lost everything were able to find their dogs and/or cats. This is the case of this man whose house was destroyed.
When an alert was issued, the man found himself stuck in traffic for almost 5 hours. A firefighter offered to go to his property and search for his dogs. Luckily, the firefighter was able to save Colvin’s dogs but Oreo got away.
-As reported by NBC Los Angeles, Casey Colvin burst into tears when he found Oreo, his dog.
The man was able to hug his faithful companion who had been seen sleeping on the debris and rubble of the destroyed houses.
With a squeaky toy in one hand and his other dog under the other arm, Colvin approached the gate of his neighbor’s house, where Oreo sat at the top of the driveway.
When his dog approached, Casey couldn’t contain his joy. Filled with gratitude, he also thanked NBC News correspondent Liz Kreutz, who captured the reunion.
