In a recent interview with several Italian media outlets, Astore confirmed that an agreement was reached between the two clubs for Pérez to join Inter Milan. However, certain details remain to be refined, particularly regarding the payment structure. “We agree on the targets and amounts. The format of the transfer remains the same; we just need to define what will be paid in advance and what will be based on targets,” he said.

The total figure under discussion amounts to 7 million euros. Nevertheless, the president of the Rosario club wants to receive 4 million euros straight away from Inter, with the remaining 3 million being conditional on targets once the player arrives in Italy. This takes into account bonuses linked to appearances or a possible future sale of the player.

On the other hand, Milan made a completely different offer. Management, led by Javier Zanetti, is proposing to pay 3 million euros initially, with the remaining 4 million based on performance targets. Regarding this direct counter-offer, Astore revealed: “We will have a response a few days after my return to Argentina.”

Another player of Newell’s who was heavily linked with a move to Inter is Mateo Silvetti. However, despite ongoing discussions, negotiations broke down when the rojo y negro decided to value him at €10 million, an amount Milan were not prepared to accept.

As for potential recruits, Astore and his team are considering bringing in Washington Aguerre, the current goalkeeper of Peñarol. However, for this to happen, the leprosos must secure the sale of Tomás Pérez to Inter in order to have the necessary financial means to acquire the experienced Uruguayan goalkeeper.

A confirmed transfer is that of Gonzalo Maroni. The former Tigre player will join the club on loan until the end of 2025 in a deal with Boca Juniors, who currently hold his rights.
