The US Supreme Court upheld the ban on TikTok in the United States starting this Sunday, January 19. The highest judicial body has rejected the appeal filed by the social network in order to suspend a law passed in April in Congress.
The consequences will be immediate: the application will no longer be downloadable. Those who already have the social network on their phone will not be able to no longer perform updates.
-To stay in the United States, TikTok is forced to sell its American operations before January 19. Another solution: the imminent inauguration of Donald Trump. Indeed, the American president wishes to save the application with a decree and postpone the deadline for the sale of TikTok.
Across the Atlantic, near 170 million people use TikTok. In other words, the daily lives of many Americans risk being disrupted.
