As Real Betis Sevilla coach Manuel Pellegrini aims to propel his team into European competition, he has praised Club América and Cruz Azul as the best teams in Liga MX.
Pellegrini’s comments came following the excitement surrounding the recent transfer of Colombian midfielder James Rodríguez to León, marking one of the marquee transfers of Mexico’s Clausura 2025 tournament. Several teams are actively exploring both the European market and Liga MX to strengthen their rosters.
Responding to questions regarding this latest transfer, Pellegrini said: “I believe there are still good players in Mexico, because the league has always been significant, and more have left this league for Europe.”
The Chilean manager, who has experience leading prestigious clubs such as Real Madrid, Villarreal, Manchester City, West Ham United, River Plate and San Lorenzo de Almagro, highlighted that Club América and Cruz Azul constantly stand out in the Mexican championship.
