After a fantastic start to the year, with the Spanish Super Cup title won against Real Madrid in Jeddah and the two victories in the Copa del Rey, Barça plunges back into La Liga on Saturday at 9 p.m. in Getafe. During the last La Liga match, on December 21, the Blaugrana lost against Atlético de Madrid at the Olympic Stadium. Despite the beautiful game produced by the men of Hansi Flickthe latter had demonstrated a cruel lack of success.
This bad streak at the end of 2024 was swept away by the improvement in January. However, Barça is now 3rd in La Liga and must catch up on Atlético de Madrid (6 points) and Real Madrid (5 points). This trip to Getafe therefore comes at the right time to move forward and achieve new success in La Liga.
A tough rival
Despite its 15th place in the standings, Getafe is a historically difficult opponent for the Blaugrana, especially in Madrid. During the Catalans’ last three trips to the Coliseum, they conceded a draw (0-0). The Madrilenians have not lost any of their last 4 home matches against Barça.
