Tonight at 9:00 p.m., Hansi Flick’s team will face Getafe at the Coliseum.
FC Barcelona make their return to LaLiga, beginning their 2025 domestic campaign after winning the Supercopa in Saudi and successfully advancing to the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey. The team will face that of José Bordalás during the meeting corresponding to the 20th day.
The German coach selected a group of 23 players, welcoming goalkeeper Tek Szczesny. The Polish international, who started both Supercopa matches in Saudi Arabia, was sent off in the final against Real Madrid in Jeddah and served his suspension in the Copa match against Betis at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Although Flick has hinted at potential changes in the hierarchy at the goalkeeper position, it appears the former Juventus goalkeeper will remain on the bench in LaLiga in favor of his Alicante counterpart.

-Another notable return is that of Andreas Christensen, who is back on the official roster after more than five months out due to an Achilles tendon injury. The Danish defender, who traveled with the team for the Supercopa, received medical clearance yesterday and is available for his return this season, having already played in the opening match against Valencia. However, Araujo and Cubarsí are expected to be the starting defenders at the Coliseum. Iñigo Martínez is the only other injury concern, having been out for four weeks, in addition to the long-term absences of Marc-André Ter Stegen and Marc Bernal.
Furthermore, Ansu Fati was once again left out of the team for the fourth consecutive match. Despite Flick’s positive remarks about the young talent during the press conference, the coaching staff appear to have opened the door to a potential departure during this winter transfer window, a move that Barça’s ’10’ is not inclined to to accept, given his limited opportunities this season.
