At two speeds during a stunning evening, LOSC finally overthrew Nice (2-1) despite a fairly strong collective, this Friday. From 4 to 7, discover our ratings after this match counting for the 18th day of Ligue 1.
The satisfactions
Fully back in the game in recent weeks, Ismaily (7) proved that he was more than just a fallback solution to compensate for Gabriel Gudmundsson’s problems. Defensive wall, he extinguished Mohamed Ali-Cho with his defensive science, both in placement and in the management of the duel. Offensively, the Brazilian remained technically very fair, playing an important role in supporting Osame Sahraoui after the break.
After Marseille in the middle of the week, Hakon Haraldsson (6) did it again by finding the net again by perfectly concluding a well-executed collective movement (1-1, 48′), on a decisive pass from a decisive and active Jonathan David (6). The Icelander also brought a lot to his game without the ball, with a huge volume of runs to perfect Lille’s pressing. More discreet in the first period, it symbolizes the two-speed match of a ultimately victorious LOSC.
Certainly, there is this center shot pushed back in a dangerous area which offers the opener to Sofiane Diop (29′), even if it was difficult to find a perimeter unoccupied by the Aiglons. But, for the rest, Lucas Chevalier (6) was again decisive. From the outset, he diverts Gaëtan Laborde’s curling shot (3′) with a masterful opposite-hand intervention, before stopping in front of Diop (14′). Two saves allowing the Mastiffs to stay in the match during a first act largely dominated by Nice, before never being called upon again after the break. Three days after the Vito Mannone festival in Marseille, LOSC can definitely count on its goalkeepers.
The disappointments
Established for the second time in a row in Ligue 1, André Gomes (4) once again delivered a lackluster performance. His tactical knowledge and technical quality are not enough to compensate for his lack of speed of execution, he who lost a good number of balls (5′, 54′, 73′), especially in small perimeters. Overall, the Portuguese continues to struggle and has still not regained the shine and influence of his time in 2022-2023.
-Back at his best level in recent weeks, Remy Cabella (4) experienced a slight slowdown against Nice. On his left side, the attacking midfielder sorely lacked impact and accuracy to influence the match. He illustrated the timidity, lack of depth and harmlessness of LOSC in the first period. Replaced at the break by Osame Sahraoui (6), more leggy and more provocative. The Moroccan created more differences, helped by a team back on track and more often in a position to create danger.
