A Ukrainian drone attack caused a fire on Friday at an industrial site in Lyudinovo, a town in western Russia located 170 km from the border, authorities reported.

Unverified videos published on Russian social networks show a violent blaze in what is presented as an oil depot in the region (illustrative image).

“Following a drone attack in Lyudinovo, a fire broke out within the perimeter of an industrial enterprise,” said the governor of the Russian Kaluga region, Vladislav Chapcha, in a message on Telegram.

Unverified videos posted on Russian social media show a violent blaze in what is said to be an oil depot in the region.

kyiv has stepped up air attacks on Russian energy and military facilities in recent months, a campaign described as a just response to Russia’s relentless bombing of its cities and energy network.

The Ukrainian army has notably struck several Russian oil depots in recent weeks, including two major strikes against a depot located near a military airport in the Saratov region. They caused fires which lasted several days.
