While the last episode left us on a cliffhanger masterful, fans just had to chomp at the bit while waiting for the sequel. Apple TV+ focuses on quality rather than quantity, and Severance was not going to be an exception. So, the streaming platform took its time. But this Friday, January 17, 2025 marks (finally) the return of Severance on our screens.

The return to Lumon Industries is made with a bang. Mark Scout and his team work in the macro data refinement department in a huge and very mysterious enterprise. What are they doing? No one really knows, not even them. But what they work on is important. So important, and confidential, that these employees had to undergo surgery aimed at distinctly separating their professional memories from their personal memories.
So, the pro does not mix with the personal. When they leave their office, they have no idea what they did during their working day. Conversely, when they are at work, they do not know who they are outside their open space. The arrival of Helly R., a new employee who has difficulty accepting this fate, upsets the fragile balance of the company, and the tidy daily life of her colleagues.

We’re not going to lie, it’s a pleasure to see Severance. The sanitized aesthetic, both satisfying and disturbing, is still there and this new season rewards us with particularly good staging ideas. After almost three years, it takes us a few moments to put the pieces of the puzzle together, but the series has thought of everything so that no one is lost. As a result, we quickly get back into the swing of things. Severance.
If we experience a certain pleasure in returning to Lumon Industries and rediscovering its mysteries, as well as our favorite employees, this new season seems to have a big flaw. That of not really answering our questions. On the contrary. If we hoped to have answers fairly quickly (after three years, that’s the least we can do), this season 2 overwhelms us with new questions and new mysteries.
If the few answers and the arrival of new questions creates a certain frustration, it also keeps us hooked a little more. One thing is certain: we can’t wait to discover the rest of season 2 of Severance. Hoping that we will eventually have some answers to put our heads together.
