A judicial investigation was opened this Friday, January 17, seven days after the death of a 26-year-old woman in the emergency room of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges hospital.

A judicial investigation for involuntary manslaughter and failure to assist a person in danger was opened Thursday following the death on January 10 of a 26-year-old woman in the emergency room of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges hospital (Val-de -), indicated this Friday, January 17, the Créteil public prosecutor’s office.

According to the same source, the autopsy carried out “reveals a pulmonary embolism”. The young woman entered the emergency room on the night of January 8 to 9 and was due to leave the hospital on the evening of the 9th, but she remained sleeping in the emergency waiting room, specifies the prosecution.

The hospital had just been affected by a social movement followed by caregivers asking for reinforcements, during this period of high demand for emergencies due to winter epidemics.
