Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement on Friday, Anadolu News Agency cited state news agency TASS as saying.

The signing ceremony was held at the Kremlin, after discussions between the two leaders.

This agreement formalizes the status of strategic partners between Moscow and Tehran, establishing a legal framework for long-term cooperation in various sectors.

The agreement covers various areas, such as defense, the fight against terrorism, energy, finance, transport, industry, agriculture, culture, science and technology.

According to the TASS news agency, the agreement sets up a legal framework to strengthen ties between Moscow and Tehran.
