The Santiago Bernabéu hosted the presentation of the National Football League (NFL) match which will be played this year in our stadium. The Miami Dolphins will be one of the two teams that will take part in this first official meeting in the history of the American Football League in Spain. President Florentino Pérez, Brett Gosper, NFL Director of Europe and Asia-Pacific, Pri Shumate, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Marketing Officer of the Miami Dolphins, Jose Luis Martínez-Almeida, Mayor of Madrid, and Mariana de Paco, Advisor culture, tourism and sports of the Community of Madrid, attended the event.
The president of Real Madrid spoke first: “For us, it is a great honor that a competition as big and prestigious as the NFL has chosen the Bernabéu to make it its own home. It is an immense pride for all of us, for Madridistasfor Madrilenians and for Spaniards, that Madrid and the Bernabéu can transmit to the whole world everything that one of the most important sports in the United States represents.”
A global stadium
“The NFL will be the main protagonist of an event that will tour the world. And it will do it in a Bernabéu that has been transformed to be able to experience these emotions and to remain a global stadium. A stadium that has become a reference in state-of-the-art architecture and engineering and who is ready to take on any challenge.”
