The prefect of Haute Corse informs:
Météo France has issued a yellow level meteorological vigilance situation to monitor for the “Rain floods” parameter from Saturday January 18 at 6 p.m. to Sunday January 19, 2025 at 6 p.m. at least.
A rainy episode begins Saturday morning in the southern half of Corsica and intensifies during the afternoon, extending to all the eastern foothills of the island. The rain-snow limit is around 1400/1500 m. Precipitation continues until Sunday, only weakening in the evening.
The total rainfall expected over the entire episode (all weekend) is 40 to 60 mm generally on the eastern side of the island, 80 to 100 mm in the mountains but locally 120/140 mm see a little more in the region of Fiumorbo and Renoso.
Snow accumulations will be significant in the mountains above 1700/1800 m.

Météo-France services place the Corse-du-Sud department on meteorological vigilance JAUNE “Weather situation to monitor” for the parameter “vague-submersion” Saturday January 18, 2025 from 3:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and for the parameter “rain-flood” from Saturday January 18, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until Sunday January 19, 2025 6:00 p.m..
