The Bernese was simply unbeatable during the super-G in Wengen on Friday. He thus offers himself his first victory in the World Cup, but without much surprise given his enormous form this season. Stefan Rogentin joins him on the podium, 3rd.
He announced the color in Italy last month, he confirmed it on Friday during the super-G in Wengen: Franjo von Allmen has the champion’s seed. Already excellent during the second downhill training two days ago, the Bernese delivered an almost perfect race on the Lauberhorn to finally climb to the top of the podium in the World Cup. A deserved result for the 23-year-old skier who exploded on the Cirque Blanc last winter before winning two 2nd places in downhill in Val Gardena and Bormio in December.
The consecration is all the more enormous when we see that the titan Marco Odermatt finished more than a second behind his young colleague. The Nidwalden, on the podium here for the last three years, was not as clean as usual despite a race almost at the limit. He finished 7th, outside the top 5 for the first time since March 2022 at Kvitfjell.
Stefan Rogentin on the podium again
Another Swiss joins Franjo von Allmen on the box. Stefan Rogentin, so often solid in training, finally delivered the same kind of performance in competition this winter to finish 3rd. Perhaps this is not a big surprise: after all, it was in Wengen that Graubünden first entered the box two years ago.
-Among the Romands, Alexis Monney once again put in a solid performance and finished 9th, ahead of Justin Murisier, 14th, who therefore signed his best result in super-G of the season. Loïc Meillard, 22nd, experienced some difficulties, while Arnaud Boisset cautiously returned to competition after his concussion at Beaver Creek to finish 25th.
