Here we go! The competition season is underway for the freeride elite and the first stop of the season takes place this Friday in Baqueira Beret, Spain. The face of La Bamba was chosen to replace the traditional Tuc de Baciver, due to the weather conditions. Indeed, the wind has been blowing strongly in recent days and the snow cover was not guaranteed on the usual site since the white gold was swept away.
It is therefore La Bamba, culminating at 2541 meters (for a difference in altitude of almost 500 meters) which was chosen. The sur face is located in the region of Vielha e Mijaran, in the Aran Valley. It promises an ideal playground for freestyle enthusiasts, who should be able to go heavy this Friday. Please note that the event is not accessible to the public.
The starting order is as follows: men’s snowboard and ski, women’s ski and snowboard. On the Swiss side, skier Jenna Keller and snowboarder Rémi Benamo are making their debut on the Tour. They accompany Elisabeth Gerritzen, who replaces at short notice the injured Sybille Blanjean, Maxime Chabloz, Simon Perraudin and Martin Bender.
