Forward Marcus Johansson, placed on the Minnesota Wild’s injured list, will miss at least the next week of activities. According to journalist Michael Russo, who covers the Wild’s activities, the 34-year-old Swede suffered a concussion in this sequence.

At the end of the second period of the game between the Edmonton Oilers and the Wild on Wednesday night, McDavid appeared to intentionally hit Johansson in the head with his elbow. However, he was not penalized for this.

The Oilers captain also did not receive a call from the Department of Player Safety to explain his actions during the day on Thursday. It will therefore not be suspended.

The Wild are currently dealing with several major injuries in their lineup, including their top scorer Kirill Kaprizov. Defensemen Brock Faber, Jonas Brodin and Jared Spurgeon, three important cogs on the blue line, are also on the sidelines.

If the team currently occupies second place in the Central section of the Western Conference, five points behind the Winnipeg Jets, it has however just suffered two losses in a row.
