Fire in an agricultural shed in Mouchamps: 200 tonnes of fodder on fire

The alert was given at daybreak. Firefighters are fighting a fire in Mouchamps (Vendée) this Thursday, January 16. It was almost 7 a.m. when the flames were discovered in the agricultural shed of a farm, located in a place called Le Deffend.

Seven engines and 19 firefighters

Seven engines and 19 firefighters from surrounding centers were mobilized to contain the fire. The building contains around 200 tonnes of fodder. As always in such cases, it will be a long watch after the fire is extinguished to ensure that it no longer smolders. 37 cattle located within the perimeter of the disaster were taken to safety in another building.
