At the Terre Marine space in Trégunc, the opening of the exhibition, Trégunc Hier-Aujourd’hui, took place on Wednesday December 15, in the presence of numerous guests and members of the Friends of Heritage and the Plein Format photo club, at the initiative of the exhibition. Until February 1, the public is invited to discover the 19 panels which present the built heritage and the various sites of the town, from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day. “The aim is, modestly, to present to visitors what has evolved or not on some sites in Trégunc, based essentially on old photos that we have thanks to numerous donors,” indicates Roland Picard, responsible for documentation and publication. to Friends of Heritage.

“Say the essentials in a few words”

From his photos or postcards, Full Format amateur photographers have agreed to play the game and position themselves as their predecessors were able to do, 50, 60 or 80 years ago. Finding your bearings, finding the same framing, when the landscape has profoundly changed is not always easy. “Certain places could only be identified thanks to details, such as a fireplace, a door, a set of windows…” continues Roland Picard.

The texts, full of anecdotes which fill these panels, were written as a team. “We had to say the essentials in a few words based on more or less extensive documentation. This was frustrating for some because each of these panels could have been the subject of an article of a few pages or more as the local history is so rich and varied,” assures the enthusiast, who recalls the importance of bearing witness today so that new generations can know the history of the commune and in turn record the present.

“The architectural aspect largely preserved”

For his part, Loïc Le Goff, president of the Friends of Heritage, shared an observation, which he considers most reassuring: “just like the general appearance of our central agglomeration, the architectural appearance of a good number of facades has been largely preserved, or even very little modified. Therefore, the precise identification of the businesses of yesteryear still seems like child’s play for the wearers of short pants from the middle of the last century. Note that this photo exhibition is coupled with that of the oils of Raymond Nivez, dedicated to the world of sailors

Practical.

An exciting and very fun exhibition, to discover with the family until February 1, during opening hours of the tourist office.
